The majority of jewelry manufacturers have a tendency to create significant amount of wastage without any vertical solution to recycle and reuse the raw materials. Gold, platinum and stainless steel in their initial mining and production processing have a significant carbon footprint, which is why Caramelo Chains is dedicated to reusing stainless steel.
HOW WE MAKE OUR STAINLESS STEEL
Our recycling processing starts at the source from our raw material sourcing. Our manufacturing process only utilizes the raw recycled, 316L stainless steel which is typically reused for construction materials. Meanwhile the jewelry industry on a vast scale continues to product new stainless steel alloys from mining to the mall. The recycled 316L stainless steel has the same corrosion resistance and strength found in new formed stainless casted pieces.
Once all of our Cuban links and chain clasps are casted they are then polished individually and the assembled for final processing. Every bracelet and chain necklace from Caramelo is made-to-order including assembly to the custom link width and chain length you want.
The final step to production is apply the color finish you choose using our proprietary and naturally inert coating. Due to our Cuban link chains being made of marine grade stainless steel you won't experience any tarnishing over time... we guarantee it.
